A new year has started and you realized that something is missing in your life, I know I did, but once I discovered minimalism my life started to make much more sense. If you have stumbled across this post is because you need a change in your life and maybe a little help to start, so look no further because I'm here to help you embark on this journey.

I will do my best to give to you all that you need to make your journey easier.. because this is not a easy peasy thing to do, so grab a pen and some paper and let's start.
First thing you need to do is to make a list. Lists are so much fun and they are your friend
Make a list of the areas you want to declutter and divide them into areas and subcategories, here are some examples:

Bedroom: Closet, Drawers (socks, underwear, pyjamas), Bags and Accessories, Shoes, Desk, Music and Books, Decor Items, Boxes or drawers with random objects, Paperwork.

Bathroom: Makeup, Brushes, Drawers, Towels, Cosmetics like body wash and shampoo, Medicine Cabinet, Linen closet.

Kitchen: Plates, Towel drawer, Utensils, Drawer one, Drawer two, Cleaning supplies.

Living Room: Decor, Silverware, DVDs, Photo Albums, Miscellaneous Drawers
Trash, donate, repair and give away
Grab 4 plastic bags or boxes and label them with the names above. This way you know where everything is going and it's easier for you to grab the trash bags and trow them away, or the donate bags and give them to charity.

List done? Now let's attack all those places one by one
This can take days, weeks or even more, depending on how much time you have to dedicate to it. For me some of the areas took 1 or 2 hours, others days. But to be honest the only areas I could declutter were my Bedroom and my Bathroom, so it took me one week, maybe two to get everything done.

After you declutter or even while you do it, make a list of things that are missing
Do you want to get rid of all books and buy a Kindle? Great. Add that to you wish list. Your towels are ugly and you are ashamed of letting your guesses see them? Get new ones. You need new sock? Add that to the list. You don't need to get everything at once, but make a list too keep in mind what needs to be purchases.

Are you done? You sure? I think you need to take a look at your computer darling
After you have declutter all your physical possessions, it's time to declutter your digital ones. E-mail, pictures, images from the net, documents, everything. Declutter and Organize. And get an external drive for security. Check this post for more about a Digital Detox.

Any questions you may have, just leave me a comment or send me an e-mail. I will be glad to help!
